I really liked the crab apple design, but it was a large, complex panel that took many hours to complete. To simplify it a little, I adapted the design to a circle. I soldered hooks onto the outside lead, being careful to solder them into the panel itself for strength, and added a chain so it could easily be hung in a window. Many of my designs, because they are versatile, can be used as autonomous panels.

The blossoms of a dogwood tree in a neighbor’s yard inspired this design. The client chose the blue glass for the petals, and because the glass didn’t have much variation in color, I curved the edges of a few petals and used a much darker blue color to create depth. I used jewels for the centers of the flowers to add some sparkle. I also extended the design into the border in a few places. The client wanted the view through the window totally obscured, so I used a white opaque background.
